They say “The bad times often get over shadowed by good times, likewise the good times get overshadowed by bad”,the above statement may hold true in a majority of life’s situations, but Chong Lepcha is such a personality who has remained the same through the winter and the summer of his life.A winsome smile sweet enough to light up any darkened heart, brushed by the golden strokes of his very homely hello, hi, Jaimashi, is what he is dearly loved and known for. Besides, our region widely known for many big and small cultural events, son of late Mr. T.T Namchyo, R.J Chong is a pioneer in the platform. A few ten to fifteen years back we were unaware and unheard of a programme anchor, his or her role and responsibilities in beautifying an event. Hence,we cannot do without mentioning his name in setting the foundation stone in this avenue. The contribution he has made in anchoring is priceless and unique. Apart from anchoring he is a skilled song writer, as well as a very gifted preacher of God’s Word. Growing up as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, residing in Upper Chumlok Wok South Sikkim, Chong has faithfully stood the test of faith and stood firm serving His Creator from his very early days in his village with has it’s own identity and contribution in the Sikkimese history. He has a great burden towards the teenagers of this generation, and humbly takes various steps and measures to reach to the lost and broken teenagers of this generation, feeding and teaching them from the living Word of God. He has thus initiated and faithfully led the Teens Asia Ministries. It is of great pride to know and hear about his selfless serving from fruits of the Lord’s garden of which Chong was a devout gardener. There are many young teenagers and adults whom he has helped by the grace of God, enhancing growth and fulfilment of the Lord’s personal calling in their lives. Ever grateful to the selfless contribution and measures he has taken in elevating the art of anchoring and hosting in our region to where it is now. We join together with him in great pride and joy for successfully completing 20 years of anchoring.
